Seri is the CEO of Clean Agency, responsible for running the agency since its inception in 2002. She is the primary business development lead and provides client services, business and sustainability strategy and team leadership. Her role is to forecast market changes for Clean and our clients to provide guidance and strategy and be successful in a quickly changing business landscape. Prior to starting Clean Agency, Seri held Vice President positions at large advertising and design agencies including Think New Ideas and Perceive. After graduating from California State Long Beach she was appointed to the USC Center for Sustainable Cities Advisory Board. She currently sits on the board of Verynice Global Design Strategy Consultants.

Emily Gasster leads our project management and internal marketing efforts in collaboration with Seri, Clean’s CEO. She has been immersed in the environmental and sustainability industries for about 2 years but her passion for sustainability and corporate social responsibility was sparked while studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2018. Emily studied Environmental Geography at Colgate University, focusing on the relationship between humans and the environment. Prior to Clean Agency, Emily interned at AECOM, where she gained knowledge of the economics and technical engineering in the environmental remediation space while researching Brownfield Opportunity Areas (BOA) in New York State. After graduation, Emily worked at GQR Global Markets, a specialized recruitment agency where she sourced talent on behalf of financial institutions involved in resource sustainability (green technology, conventional power, renewable energy, and infrastructure). She developed strategies for new client and candidate acquisition and retention and led term negotiations of over 10 strategic partnerships and prospective clients. These experiences have led her to be an effective account executive and communications strategist for Clean.

Hossein is the research lead at Clean Agency as a life cycle assessment practitioner with seven years of experience working with executives on PCRs, EPDs, and strategies for using LCA. He integrated sustainability into the Michigan Technical University's research, teaching, outreach, and operational activities to improve the quality of life for the campus community and promote a healthy environment was the team's goal. Before Clean Agency, he worked on the life cycle assessment of alternative energy resources funded by the Department of Energy. He has also worked at Climate Earth, where he is the North American EPD implementation program leader with experience working with more than 100 clients. He has also had an active role in the LCA modeling of the fashion & fabrics industry seeking supplier decarbonization goals by 2030.

Danielle Sclafani has been assisting Clean’s Research lead by analyzing literature reviews of available life cycle assessments and relevant product supply chains. She also helps in conducting life cycle assessments for Clean’s clients through materials research and coordinating with clients’ suppliers and packaging partners. Prior to Clean Agency, Danielle worked as an assistant at Blue Tomorrow LLC., an environmental consulting firm based in Santa Barbara, CA. At Blue Tomorrow, Danielle focused on writing grant proposals and strategic communication reports for their clients. She also lived and worked in New York City at Horizon-Next as an Assistant Brand Strategist, where she conducted data analysis to optimize ad-placements across several different media platforms. Danielle is a current Masters student at the Bren School for Environmental Science and Management at University of California, Santa Barbara where she is specializing in Energy & Climate. Danielle has been recently working with Regeneration.VC on her Masters Group Project, focusing her research on successful business models within the circular economy. She is continuing to work with Regeneration.VC as a summer analyst and is assisting in the development of the fund’s 2022 impact report.

Clean was formed by CEO Seri McClendon, previously a marketing veteran with 10 years experience in advertising, media and design. Seri envisioned that market demand for corporate social responsibility would fundamentally change how corporations and organizations run their global operations.
McClendon has built a robust research team with expertise in Industrial Ecology, LCA, GRI Reporting with top environmental researchers, writers and designers from USC, University of Michigan, UCLA and UC Santa Barbara.
