Clean researched a variety of end-of-life (EOL) options to significantly decrease the amount of their chip packaging going to landfill. The approach was to identify key partnerships in U.S. regions to test a closed loop system. Some research challenges included aligning timing towards legislation, how far a program can reach across the country, an the integrity of the material stream.

“To me, the value of CLEAN over other consultants is that they deliver the technical expertise, but also in combination with a business perspective, working to identify business opportunities through marketing collaboration. And they are able to work in a way that is collaborative, to pull people along and build internal momentum for sustainability. It’s really the combination of the educational value, building literacy, and momentum, in addition to the actual work that they produce, that have provided a value to our business.” – Mike Desso, Director Safety, Health and Environment, Nestlé USA
